Upcoming preventive boil water advisory for a part of the Gatineau sector

Gatineau, November 25, 2019. – Ville de Gatineau has to replace a watermain along rue Saint-Louis. The scheduled work will take place on November 26 and 27, and will result in a preventive boil water advisory for one minute effective November 27, right after midnight.

Quick facts

●	The work will be done in two stages: -excavation on Tuesday, November 26 starting at 6 p.m.; and -replacement of the watermain on November 27, starting right after midnight.

●	Residents may experience a drop in water pressure during the night of November 26 to 27. -The work will be done during the night when water consumption is at its lowest. -The water pressure will be restored as soon as possible in the morning of November 27.

●	The preventive boil water advisory for one minute will affect 10,000 homes within the perimeter delimited by: - montée Paiement to the west; - avenue du Cheval-Blanc to the east; - boulevard La Vérendrye to the north; and - the Ottawa River to the south.

●	The public will be informed about the lifting of the preventive boil water advisory.

Impact on traffic

●	This work will require the closure of rue Saint-Louis between boulevard Maloney Ouest and rue Jacques-Cartier.

●	There will be a detour through boulevard de la Cité.

●	Signalers will be on hand to direct drivers to businesses along rue Saint-Louis, which will remain accessible.

●	Residents are asked to plan their routes.
