Help with the snow clearing operations and where to deposit snow

  • Place your garbage and recycling bins on your driveway, inside your property line
  • Avoid parking on the street, or wait until your street has been cleared before parking there
  • Think about the snow clearing equipment. Avoid parking across the street from a parked vehicle. View the situation.
  • Comply with the winter overnight parking by-law and the temporary signs. Only general winter overnight on-street parking permit holders are allowed to park on the street overnight in the winter. When an on-street parking ban is in effect, nobody is allowed to park on the street.

Getting your yard ready for winter Cover your lawn with a geotextile along the sidewalk to protect it from gravel. Winter robotic collection Your bins must be accessible and properly placed. Check the additional instructions for winter collection. Winter overnight on-street parking Overnight on-street parking is prohibited except for general winter overnight parking permit holders. However, winter on-street parking bans apply to everyone once they come into effect.

The reason for the prohibition against winter overnight on-street parking is to minimize hindrances that interfere with snow clearing operations. Those operations can be carried out more efficiently and safely when there are no obstructions.
Pilot project allowing winter parking on one only side of the street A pilot project allowing parking on only one side of the street is in place for the winter of 2024-2025. Ecological neighbourhoods In the 2024-2025 winter, an ecological pilot project will be set in place in several sectors.
