Heat wave ended: return to normal swimming hours and watering ban lifted for the Aylmer sector
Gatineau, July 11, 2020. – The latest weather forecast issued by Environment Canada indicates the end of the latest heat wave in the Gatineau area.
Therefore, the extended hours for swimming pools, beaches and splash pads end today at 8 p.m. In addition, the agora at Maison du citoyen, which has been open to residents needing a break from the heat, will also close today at 8 p.m.
The ban against mechanical watering for the Aylmer sector is now lifted. However, Gatineau asks everyone to limit their use of tap water as much as possible. Residents are asked to be particularly responsible in their use of water between 3 and 9 a.m. and between 6 and 9 p.m., and to put off doing laundry, taking baths and showers, as well as using dishwashers, manual watering, filling pools and washing vehicles to other times of the day.
