Gatineau, September 21th, 2018. - The tornado and high winds alerts are over. Our municipal employees (fire, police, public works) intervened quickly and are mobilized.
A mobile command post has been deployed and the Emergency Response Center is open.
The teams are working on supporting the citizens who have been evacuated. We collaborate with our partners: Société des Transports de l'Outaouais and Red Cross. The opening of an emergency center at the Gabrielle-Roy campus of Cégep de l'Outaouais, located in the Hull sector, is in preparation.
The municipal services assessing the damage and will proceed to clearing the public roads of debris in order to secure streets for transportation. The situation is closely monitored, and additional staff are deployed to assist.
