Tap water advisory for part of the Aylmer sector
Gatineau, November 14, 2017. – Ville de Gatineau has issued a water advisory for part of the Aylmer sector. This advisory affects close to 2000 residences. The ban on the consumption of tap water is effective immediately, and until further notice. ● | The area delimited by chemin Eardley, boulevard des Allumettières et and Broad, Bagot, Gordon and North. |

● | Gatineau are distributing bottled water at the centre aquatique Paul-Pelletier (325 chemin d'Aylmer). Residents will be able to use the showers at the centre until 10 p.m. tonight. |
● | A smell of hydrocarbon was detected coming from the water during rehabilitation work on a supercharger on rue Front. |
● | Water rinsing operations are currently underway. |
● | Residents are not to consume the tap water within the affected perimeter. |
● | The water must not be used for washing or brushing teeth, or for cooking or doing the dishes. |
● | Boiling the water is useless under the circumstances. |
● | The advisory is in effect until further notice. |
● | Ville de Gatineau will inform the public as soon as the advisory is lifted. |
● | Residents should monitor the municipal Web site for updates. |
● | Residents can register to e-mail and text message (SMS) alerts. |
● | The hours of operation of the centre aquatique Paul-Pelletier are from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. |
