Preventive boil water advisory for a part of the Hull sector

Gatineau, December 18 2018. – Gatineau is issuing a preventive boil water advisory for a part of the Hull sector. This preventive advisory is being issued due to a watermain break on boulevard Alexandre-Taché last night.

Approximately 24 500 residences in part of the Hull sector are impacted by the preventive boil water advisory.


Quick facts

If you are in the area covered by the boil water advisory

Affected residents and institutions must boil their tap water for at least one minute before consuming it.
They must continue to do so until Gatineau lifts the preventive boil water advisory.
Once the preventive boil water advisory has been lifted;
- all cold water taps, including water fountains, must be opened and the water left to run for one minute or until it gets cold before it can be consumed; and
- any ice made from tap water run during the boil water advisory must be discarded.

Impact on circulation – boulevard Alexandre-Taché

In order to allow municipal crew to repair the watermain break, the boulevard-Taché is completely closed in both directions between rue Boucherville and rue Hormidas-Dupuis.
Detours are in place and will be adjusted as the situation changes.
The Gatineau police is presently on hand to assist with circulation.
Please plan ahead if you aim to circulate in the impacted area.
