UPDATE : Gatineau is working on opening an accommodation center and municipal teams continue cleaning operations

Gatineau, September 21, 2018. - The emergency center at the Gabrielle-Roy Pavilion in the C�gep de l'Outaouais, in Hull sector, will become a temporary shelter. Psychological support will be offered to those affected by the Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSO).

Operations in progress

●	Clean-up of public roads to secure streets continues by the municipal employees.

●	Inspections are in progress. Approximately 60 firefighters are within the perimeter to inspect and secure the premises and provide assistance if needed.

●	More than 30 police officers secure the perimeter.

●	The map below represents the main perimeter affected

●	The City works with all its partners: Red Cross, CISSO, Gazif�re, Hydro-Qu�bec, Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS), SPCA, C�gep de l'Outaouais and Ambulance St-Jean.

●	Citizen security is the City's first concern. The City is asking victims whose property has been damaged and who have been evacuated not to attempt to return to their homes until the authorities have indicated that the premises are safe.

●	The City thanks all citizens who wish to offer their help. At the moment, it is too soon to specify the needs. In the event of a need for volunteers, we will announce it.

●	A mobile command post has been deployed and the Emergency Response Center is open.

●	To date, 287 calls have been made to 3-1-1. The requests deal in particular with damage on the public road, request for help, voluntary offer.

●	If you notice damage on public roads, contact 3-1-1. If you are concerned about your health or safety, contact 9-1-1.

When the wind abates

●	Watch out for debris such as tin, glass or other sharp objects.

●	Do not touch power lines lying on the ground or�hanging, because they may be live. Contact Hydro-Qu�bec.

●	Never enter a building that�has been damaged by wind
